Seared Chicken Livers
– 500g chicken livers, well-trimmed and cleaned
– 2 tbs cooking oil
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
– 1 tablespoon Mr. Sauce Tomato Ketchup
– 1/2 cup chicken stock/relish mix
– 3/4 cup spring onions
In a large pan, heat oil, then add the chicken livers and gently fry. Season with the salt and pepper and cook over high heat for 1 minute. Carefully turn the livers and fry on the other side. Remove from pan and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and chicken stock together.
Add chopped shallots/onions to the pan and fry for about half a minute.
Stir in the ketchup and chicken stock, then add the chicken livers and cook just until warmed through.
Serve with sadza and muriwo with a generous dash of ketchup.
